Tina explains what it’s like to work as a Delivery Manager, and why working for DVSA Digital is a special place to be.
What is it like working in DVSA Digital?
I started at DVSA in 2019 as a Delivery Manager. I’m still here, and I’ve been able to progress my career and skills considerably in the last 4 years. I like it because it is an open and transparent organisation. People working here understand and work toward a common purpose around the strategic goal of helping keep Britain moving safely and sustainably. An organisation shared purpose brings an honesty you don’t always see and that makes it a really special place to work.

What is the most exciting part of this role?
Our programme Delivery Managers get to own real stuff holistically, you are trusted to work with service owners and do the right thing. Micromanagement just doesn’t happen. When thinking about the services you could be responsible for, they are services you care about and your family and friends care about. There is a real pride that comes when you implement a change and you see people you know using it, like the MOT history service.
Why would you join our team?
Apart from us having no legacy so being safe in the knowledge you will not be running a migration, you will be joining a team who want to be here, and who are proud of what they are doing and the value they bring. You really will feel like you are actually part of something, and will have the space and support to develop your skills in an environment that is supportive and inclusive. Don’t get me wrong, there are challenges, and there are fixed-date initiatives we have to respond to sometimes, but when you have multi-discipline teams all working together the head-scratching challenges become exciting learning-centric collaborations really quickly.
